Discover the church "La Mattarella” which houses the most ancient fresco of the Last Supper in the Marca Trevigiana.
Just a few steps from the center of Cappella Maggiore, there is an ancient little church surrounded by greenery. Its historical and artistic value was returned to the community of the faithful and to visitors in recent years. It is the church of the Holy Trinity (as evidenced by the inscription "Uno et Trino" on the entrance portal) but for centuries it has been called by the locals more familiarly "Della Mattarella", a name which ended up replacing that of the dedication of the sacred building. The fifteenth-century church incorporates an older oratory of the twelfth or thirteenth century, built as a "cappella campestris".
